A New Movement Born from the Intersection of Fashion and Art

Christian Haas Exhibition "ROPES" at LAILA TOKIO. Moving forward, under the title "FRONT#," they will periodically introduce artists, designers, and craftspeople who engage in creative activities based on traditional cultures and techniques, regardless of genre, and strive to create the future with their aesthetic sensibilities. This is the first installment.




Currently based in Paris, Christian Haas is active in a wide range of fields from products to interiors and graphics, having released numerous works for established European brands. In addition to his original creations, his experience as Creative Director for the long-standing German crystal brand "Nachtmann" has fostered deep connections with artisans who have inherited and continue to innovate traditional techniques and craftsmanship.




This exhibition features "ROPES," released under his own label launched in 2011, and a new series of glassware from the German heritage glass brand "THERESIENTHAL," beloved by royalty and nobility.


Refined Forms, Poetic and Elegant Works

"ROPES Edition of lamps" combines soft textures with innovative light sources to create unique design objects. When lit, they diffuse a gentle glow, and when unlit, the lamps provide a graphic statement to their surroundings. Each is a unique piece with a serial number, varying in size, and is handmade in Germany and France.



"PLANET EARTH Tumbler & Pitchers" is an art glass collection produced by the traditional German glass brand THERESIENTHAL. PLANET EARTH refers to five sets in the SMALL WORLD series, inspired by Christian Haas's philosophical aphorisms. It is a special series that expresses his ideas through form, color, cut, or engraved imagery.

Christian Haas

Born in Erlangen, Germany, in 1974. After earning a bachelor's degree in industrial design in 1999, he opened his own studio in 2000. From 2002 to 2004, he served as Creative Director for the long-standing crystal brand "Nachtmann." In 2007, he opened his studio in Paris and relocated his base of operations there. In 2011, he launched his own label. His major clients include Rosenthal, Villeroy & Boch, Nachtmann, Bauscher, Tafelstern, Andreas Murkudis, Micasa Brasilien, Galerie Bensimon Paris, Swarovski, Theresienthal, Koichiro Kimura Tokyo, Spiegelau, and Autostadt Volkswagen.
