New and unreleased works from nendo and others on display
The "Design & Architecture Floor" at Daikanyama Tsutaya Books, which has been proposing a "lifestyle for adults" since its opening in 2011 and has attracted many creators, including designers and architects, has now been renewed. In addition to further enhancing the lineup that serves as a source of inspiration for professionals, new books and other items have been gathered to be enjoyed by everyone interested in design.



Furthermore, the commemorative event for this renewal, "Daikanyama Design Department 2013," will start on Wednesday, October 23rd. During the event, "blue rooms by nendo," directed by Nendo, the studio led by Oki Sato, who is garnering significant attention in the design world, will be held. Approximately 30 works, including new and unreleased pieces, will be featured. These will be identifiable by blue illuminated fixtures and will be displayed throughout the venue.


There will also be a wealth of content to see and purchase. At the "Daikanyama T-SITE GARDEN GALLERY" adjacent to Daikanyama Tsutaya Books, the latest activities of creators engaged in innovative manufacturing that gives birth to the "now" will be introduced. At the exhibition "Tradition and I," limited edition products with "tradition" as their theme, created through their proposals, will be sold, among other noteworthy events.



Talk events with distinguished guests

Furthermore, talk events will be held at a pace of almost every day. On Wednesday, October 30th, Oki Sato will be joined by book designer Shin Sobue, and on Saturday, November 2nd, graphic designer Kenya Hara will appear with architect Yoshiharu Tsukamoto (Atelier Bow-Wow), creating compelling lineups.



Daikanyama Tsutaya Books has consistently presented new forms of bookstores. We invite you to experience the further evolution of this space after its renewal while enjoying works by popular creators across genres.
