Works Expressing a Different Side
This exhibition showcases works such as vases, lidded containers, cups, and bowls, created using techniques like the potter's wheel and "tebineri," a hand-molding method without a wheel. Each piece reflects the artist's inner world, while the patterns and experimental glazes create a sense of expansive atmosphere.
Some of the works are combined with wooden lids crafted by Shuji Morimasa, a woodworker from Kagoshima, allowing visitors to enjoy the textures of both ceramics and wood simultaneously.
This exhibition offers a glimpse into a new facet of Rie Ito as an artist, distinct from her activities with "BIRDS’ WORDS." Why not experience the individual comfort of each piece by holding them in your hands?
