ALESSI | A White Plate Becomes a Canvas: "WHITE PLATE LAB" Event

ALESSI | The White Plate Becomes a Canvas

ALESSI LAB's Third Edition: Where White Plates Become Canvases

“WHITE PLATE LAB” Event Held

A special event focusing on white plates, a diverse category within ALESSI products, is set to take place. "ALESSI LAB" proposes the functionality and enjoyment of ALESSI products through live demonstrations by professionals from various fields, presented in a laboratory-like setting. The third installment is "WHITE PLATE LAB," a collaboration with "UTSU-WA?," a unit that organizes gatherings to explore tableware and cuisine with a different theme each time, celebrating the "WA" (harmony, connection, conversation) that emerges. The event will be held on Wednesday, November 6th.

Each session is limited to 20 participants.

This collaboration, "WHITE PLATE LAB," with "UTSU-WA?" invites participants to select their favorite white plate from ALESSI's diverse collection, envisioning it as a canvas. It's a dining-style workshop that proposes plating arrangements and combinations with traditional Japanese tableware. The venue will be the Omotesando showroom of the German home appliance brand MIELE.

The collaborators, "UTSU-WA?," are Ayako Ina, who loves tableware; Naomi Yokoyama, a fashion editor with a passion for food and wine; Etsuko Suzuki, who has connections to film and cuisine; and Masayo Funakoshi, a globally active chef. They came together to launch this initiative, which hosts irregular secret dinners that explore tableware and cuisine, celebrating "WA" (harmony, connection, conversation).

UTSU-WA? shares their message: "We have previously collaborated with artists both domestically and internationally, planning small-group secret dinners while discovering compelling themes – the '?' in our name. For this event, under the theme 'WHITE PLATE LAB,' we will propose combinations of ALESSI's white plate series with Japanese tableware, along with everyday usage ideas, allowing guests to enjoy the plating experience themselves. We hope you will enjoy the time of connection, harmony, and relaxation that UTSUWA fosters across borders."
