Artistry Beyond Craftsmanship

Bamboo has long been used as a material for daily necessities and is a familiar presence in Japanese life. It is said that bamboo grew in every mountain, and that the Japanese began weaving bamboo even before pottery making.

While bamboo products like sieves and baskets were once considered mere household items or utilitarian wares, modern bamboo artists began to create works that transcended simple craftsmanship, earning them recognition as beautiful works of art.
