A Ceramic Series That Will One Day Become an Antique, While Embracing Daily Stories
MISHIM POTTERY CREATION, a ceramic brand launched in 2005 by the design label "MISHIM," which aims to create pieces that can become antiques in the future. The brand collaborates with different ceramic artists for each series, engaging in discussions based on their respective techniques, materials, and artistic visions. The resulting ceramics are user-friendly and have garnered a large following.

Subtle Glaze Variations Create Textural Patterns
MISHIM POTTERY CREATION has so far released six series. Each series is developed in collaboration with a different ceramic artist, with whom they communicate to create products that leverage each artist's unique characteristics.
The signature feature of the new "PUDDLES" series is the use of varied glaze application to create textural patterns. Areas coated with transparent glaze appear glossy, like they are wet with water, while areas left unglazed reveal the dry texture of the clay.
The production for this series was handled by "3RD CERAMICS," a team comprising Kazuya Hanayama, Yu Nagaya, and Takeshi Doi, all born in 1986. They are neither individual artists nor a large manufacturer. They explore a new form of craftsmanship—a third way of ceramics—and have been active in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture, since 2014 with the concept of "for those who live with awareness."
The "PUDDLES" series offers two types each of mugs and plates, all with user-friendly forms. The aesthetic beauty, born from the teamwork of the three artists and MISHIM's collaboration, will enhance daily life and mature into future antiques.
