Launch at Isetan Shinjuku

H.KATSUKAWA is a brand developed by designer Eiichi Katsukawa. The brand name is a play on his own name, derived from an affectionate nickname given by his mentor, Paul Harnden, who couldn't pronounce "Eiichi" and shortened it.

The brand concept is "Feeling the world through products." The products born from this concept are imbued with various backgrounds, including leather materials, their manufacturing processes, culture, and natural science. By merging the knowledge and insights gained from these with product design, fashion design, natural science, and art, the brand creates items with a fresh perspective.

For the Spring/Summer 2019 collection, a shoe collection named "HONESTY WHITE," made from pure white pigskin, has been released. The characteristic "white" color is interpreted as an unadulterated hue in the information-saturated urban life. This is also the origin of the collection's name, "HONESTY WHITE."


All shoes are made in Japan using the Goodyear welt construction method. By incorporating a cushiony sponge in the insole, they achieve a comfort level akin to sneakers.

Additionally, "CITY NATURE PRINT," featuring photographs of urban nature, is incorporated inside the shoes and on the back of the shoe boxes. This season, stones from the Futako-Tamagawa riverbank were photographed and used as graphics.


This collection will launch on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building. Additionally, limited-edition handmade leather goods will be released in limited quantities on the web store.
