Jean Rousseau, the French luxury leather goods manufacturer, has unveiled and begun selling its "Adorned" collection, a collaboration with the long-established Kyoto textile institution, Sawaya Jubei.

Items Born from Shared Respect for Craftsmanship and Meticulous Material Care

The "Adorned" collection, a fusion of Parisian luxury leather and Kyoto's traditional beauty, is now here.

Sawaya Jubei, a venerable weaving house, was founded in Kyoto in 1776. For nearly 250 years, it has continued to weave kimonos and obi of exceptional quality. The current head, Jubei Sawaya, is the eighth generation of the family weaving house. This collection is the result of a collaboration between two entities that share a deep respect for craftsmanship and meticulous attention to materials.

The "Adorned" collection utilizes surplus materials generated during the creation of patterns such as "Kōdai Nishiki" and "Kuri Sarasa," which boast over 400 patterns and 1000 base colors. Complementing the obi fabric, carefully selected leather items with harmonious textures and colors from the leather collection are integrated. The lineup includes card cases, smart wallets, and watch straps.
