A Lineup of Bags and Pouches Featuring "Winter Forest"

The "Iittala x Issey Miyake" home collection was born in 2016 through a collaboration between Finland's Iittala and Issey Miyake.

The products created are designed to be enjoyed in daily life and for the moments of time. A selection of high-quality items such as glassware, ceramics, and home textiles for everyday living are available.

The initiator of this collaboration can be said to be designer Harri Koskinen, who was the Design Director at Iittala at the time.

The "Winter Forest" (Winter Forest), the first print pattern in the collection, was created by Koskinen. A minimalist black pattern is drawn on white fabric, with his signature incorporated.

Inspired by the snow-covered Nordic forests, the design draws from nature, resulting in a finish that truly embodies the "Iittala x Issey Miyake" home collection.



Three items featuring this "Winter Forest" pattern—a bag and two sizes of pouches—will be available as a limited production for 2019.

The pouches are characterized by their just-right size, usable as organizers for small items within a bag, or as standalone casual handbags. The high-quality, durable bag features handles made of genuine leather, serving as an accent that sharpens the overall form.

A key feature is that all items incorporate Issey Miyake's signature pleating technique, achieving a unique look.


Harri Koskinen commented, "This pattern, with its abstract yet well-thought-out lines, allows for different interpretations by each user; some may imagine the scenery of winter coniferous forests, while others may envision geometric folds and lines."
