A Chance to Experience the Allure and Durability Forged Over Nearly a Century

In 1917, Giuseppe Ratti, owner of a small optical shop in Turin, Italy, began researching comfort, durability, and clear vision, leading him to create eyewear for pilots and racers. This is considered the first step for what would later become the globally successful Persol brand. The goggles, secured to the head with a band called a protector, were adopted by the Italian military. By 1924, Ratti had obtained 14 international patents, and the eyewear was eventually adopted by the Swiss military as well.

In the late 1930s, Persol introduced Meflecto, the world's first flexible temple material. This material, adaptable to any face shape, remains a fundamental element of Persol eyewear today. This temple system, born from Ratti's inspiration, was quickly patented in countries worldwide, captivating the globe not only for its functionality but also for its beautiful design. The Silver Arrow, an emblem inspired by the swords of ancient warriors, was also created during this period.
