Select Shop "EDITION BLUE" Opens

A select shop is born, offering a new process for enjoying interior selection.──Otsuka Furniture and the design office nendo, led by Oki Sato, have collaborated to open "EDITION BLUE," a select shop themed around Scandinavia, within the IDC Otsuka Furniture Shinjuku Showroom on April 5th (Friday).

A New "Select Shop" Style Store Featuring Popular Scandinavian Furniture

With the concept of "choosing interiors as you choose clothes," EDITION BLUE selects furniture, lighting, and miscellaneous goods, blending Scandinavian styles with Italian modern and vintage pieces.

What nendo / Oki Sato has introduced this time is not a focus on total interior coordination, but rather a product selection and spatial composition that allows customers to enjoy the "feeling of nurturing furniture little by little," starting with a favorite chair.

The open and airy floor, based on Scandinavian blue and white with bright flooring, features an experiential space divided into three steps according to life stages.

In conjunction with the opening of EDITION BLUE, new original furniture, redesigned by nendo / Oki Sato from the classic models of "Akita Mokko," Japan's only specialist in bentwood furniture, will also go on sale.

The lineup includes the "Chair No. 508 EB," a redesigned version of the long-selling "No. 508" model with decorative curves on the front legs replaced by simple straight lines and a revised frame structure for a lighter feel, and the "Chair No. 500 EB," available in seven soft colors applied like icing to the top of the solid beech wood back. Alongside various tables, stools, and sofas, a total of nine planned EDITION BLUE original items will be available.

We also draw attention to the lineup, which further refines the strengths of timeless design and adds simple details to suit contemporary lifestyles.
