BAUM DESIGN
Precision Paperweights Crafted from Nambu Ironware and Iwate Wood
After working as a car designer for approximately 28 years at Honda, Subaru, and Mercedes-Benz, Hideki Takahashi has launched his independent project, BAUM DESIGN. His hometown of Iwate is the setting for his new independent project, "TETSUKI," which utilizes local crafts.
The first product is a paperweight combining Nambu ironware with woodturning techniques. It features an easy-to-grip, tapered shape and a satisfying weight for its purpose. Practicality is integrated into its minimalist design.
The ironware component was crafted by "Oigen Foundry" (Morioka City), and the chestnut wood by "horimoku" (Yahaba Town), resulting in a superb Made in Iwate product.
