Three Distinct Shapes to Enhance Flavor and Aroma

WAZAtoBA, a general incorporated association, has launched the "IKKON" project, dedicated to fully enjoying sake by utilizing Japan's proud traditional and cutting-edge technologies. As the first release in this project, the "Guinomi Set (IKKON DOUBLE WALL SAKE CUP)" has arrived, featuring a double-wall structure crafted from Ohori Soma Ware, a traditional craft of Fukushima Prefecture.

This Ohori Soma Ware boasts a 300-year tradition as a craft of the Soma region in Fukushima Prefecture. Its 25 kilns are located in Namie Town, Futaba District, within the 20-kilometer exclusion zone from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, and residents have been forced to evacuate since the Great East Japan Earthquake, a situation that continues to this day.

The curved interior of the double-walled sake cups comes in three distinct shapes, each designed to enhance specific flavors and aromas, allowing users to savor the differences. The exterior is subtly embossed with the shape of the interior, providing a visual cue to identify the form at a glance. By tasting the same sake in each of these cups, one can fully appreciate and explore its nuanced flavor profile.

WAZAtoBA plans to further develop the "IKKON" project, aiming to invigorate sake culture and, by extension, Japanese culture as a whole, through the integration of advanced technologies like AI with traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
