Perrocaliente's latest product is a sundial. When placed on a stable surface like a sunlit table or windowsill, sunlight passes through a cylindrical lens, projecting the time onto the surface. Aligning the acrylic part to true north enhances the accuracy of the time display. There are five types corresponding to the country or latitude of use. Within Japan, Okinawa is "Type 25," mainland is "Type 35," and Hokkaido is "Type 45."


The design was handled by product designer Atsuhiro Hayashi, based in Osaka. The metal parts are available in two types: brass and stainless steel, each with a polished or matte finish, resulting in a beautiful object. It's a wonderful way to connect with the rhythms of nature through a product, even in the brief moments of a day.
