Marc Newson, originally from Sydney, is a product designer whose work spans furniture, interior objects, tableware, bicycles, automobiles, yachts, and aircraft. He first gained widespread recognition with the "Lockheed Lounge," a sofa with beautiful curves, when he was still relatively unknown. In 2006, this sofa sold for $850,000 (approximately ¥100 million) at a Sotheby's auction, earning it the title of the most expensive piece of furniture in history.

Newson began his collaboration with Montblanc in 2015. While this marked the first time in Montblanc's over 100-year history to partner with a designer, the "Montblanc M," incorporating Newson's signature fluid and organic design, was met with significant acclaim.



Two years later, the "Montblanc M Ultra Black" arrives, further enhancing the design with its matte black finish. Additionally, new "Color of the Year Lucky Orange" inks and notebooks have been introduced, inspired by Marc Newson's signature orange hue. The orange accents are thoughtfully designed to complement the matte black writing instruments.
