Efficiently Remove Burrs with Denim

Kamaasa Shoten, a purveyor of cooking tools since 1908, has collaborated with Johnbull, a brand based in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, to develop an original denim apron. This collaboration with Johnbull, known for its work and military-inspired apparel emphasizing durability, is centered around the concept of knife sharpening. A step in knife sharpening involves "burr removal," where the fine edge burrs are scraped off, a process for which denim is sometimes used.

Sharpening Apron

Taking inspiration from this, a highly durable denim fabric, distinct from the main apron material, has been adopted for the right thigh area. Furthermore, using denim makes repairs easier. This exquisite item beautifully fuses the desire to "care for tools and use them for a long time" with the durability of denim. Like Kamaasa Shoten's cooking tools, it is sure to become more cherished with use.
