A fallen branch catches on a lower one, swaying precariously. Within the fragility and balance created by such chance, a new beauty is found. It was with this concept that spatial/product designer Koichi Futatsumata presented "in the sky" in 2010. The original is still available in the furniture label E&Y's collection line "edition HORIZONTAL."


Derived from this, "IN THE SKY B.G." was designed for the exhibition event "gravity," held this autumn at DESIGN Koishikawa. While maintaining the original form, its scale has been increased to 2.2m in diameter, resulting in a truly breathtaking finish. With the cooperation of E&Y, a limited production of 10 units has been decided for sale. The "gravity" exhibition has been extended until Sunday, November 12th. Those who haven't seen it should definitely visit.
