Familiar shapes rendered in wood. Introducing "kasane kop" from Iwate | Holz
Holz
Wood is Mountain Cherry. Suitable for Both Hot and Cold.
Stacking cups, the kind everyone has likely held at least once in old-fashioned coffee shops, diners, and restaurants. "kasane Kop" is a reinterpretation of this archetypal anonymous design shape in wood.

The design was handled by "Holz," a popular interior shop in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture, and the manufacturing by "horimoku," a local woodcraftsman also from Iwate. Despite its simple shape, multiple prototypes were made. Mountain cherry wood, known for its minimal warping and excellent strength, was chosen. A urethane finish allows the cups to be used with both hot and cold beverages.
The packaging, which features a foil-stamped imprint of the cup's actual size, is also exquisite. They would make a delightful gift.
