Introducing "LOCAL DESIGN PRODUCTS," a New Brand Aiming for Regional Specialties x Design
Two Types of Stainless Steel Design Eco-Cups Debut
DESIGN DESIGN, led by art director and graphic designer Takeaki Shirai and based in Niigata City, Niigata Prefecture, has launched "LOCAL DESIGN PRODUCTS," a new brand born from the desire to share the region's excellent craftsmanship with more people. As the brand's first offering, designed to enhance products through design, two types of stainless steel design eco-cups have debuted.

Focusing on Craftsmanship and Design for Adults Who Enjoy Beer Deliciously and Stylishly
DESIGN DESIGN states, "Design creates brands, colors cities, connects people, and makes the world brighter and more enjoyable. We cherish and meticulously craft the designs that are indispensable to people's lives every day." For these new stainless steel design eco-cups, representative Takeaki Shirai handled both art direction and design.
The cups are born from Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, an area with a long history of metalworking expertise. Craftsmen, who polish various metals for applications like the back of iPods and aircraft, meticulously polish the interior of these stainless steel cups, enhancing the beer's foam and ensuring an enjoyable drinking experience down to the last drop.
To these stainless steel cups, local art director Shirai has added his designs and created original packaging.
The "Cloud Cup," inspired by clouds, and the "Sign Cup," which allows for signing, are ideal not only as gifts for beer lovers but also as stylish eco-cups for outdoor festivals and adventures.
Takeaki Shirai
Art Director & Graphic Designer. Leads the design firm DESIGN DESIGN. Born in Niigata Prefecture. Based in Niigata, he handles everything from branding design to various advertisements and individual graphic designs. Awarded the Niigata ADC Grand Prix and selected for JAGDA "Graphic Design in Japan." Member of JAGDA and Niigata ADC.
