Kamaasa Shoten

Perfectly Paired with Thick, Red-Meat Steaks

Kamaasa Shoten, a purveyor of cooking utensils in Asakusa and Kappabashi since 1908, has collaborated with Gifu Prefecture's "HIRO KNIVES" to develop an original steak knife. HIRO KNIVES is a knife manufacturer founded by Hiroaki Masui, who has been crafting knives since he was 16. Its high quality has earned it renown among knife enthusiasts, particularly in Europe and America. The knife uses the same high-grade stainless steel, "V-Gold No. 10," as professional kitchen knives, and skilled artisans meticulously sharpen the blade, achieving a sharpness comparable to high-end kitchen knives. At first glance, the blade appears sword-like towards the tip, but its gentle curve towards the handle softens its sharpness, creating a refined table setting. Like kitchen knives, it can be repeatedly used after sharpening. It comes in an original gift box. The thin paper wrapping the knife is Mino washi, a traditional paper from Gifu Prefecture.
