An Exquisite Piece Adorned in Every Detail

The European writing instrument brand Montblanc has produced the "Montblanc Homage to Marco Polo "Il Milione" Limited Edition 1" fountain pen, a limited edition of one, representing a new era for the brand. It brings to life the story of Marco Polo, the adventurer who bridged continents 700 years ago, through supreme craftsmanship and precious materials.

Drawing inspiration from Polo's own record titled "Il Milione (The Travels of Marco Polo)," the pen recreates the adventurer's journey with meticulous detail and sparkling jewels.


The cap is adorned with dark red rubies and cognac-toned diamonds, inspired by the Coromandel screens, a typical form of Chinese interior decoration. Removing the cap reveals the barrel, where a world map is recreated with diamonds.

The cap ring is decorated with depictions of wild animals encountered by Polo on his travels, as also illustrated in "Il Milione."

The compass rose, the most important navigation tool of the journey, is placed beneath the Montblanc emblem on the cap top, alongside diamonds.

The nib is crafted from 18-karat solid champagne gold and features an engraving of "Polo traveling through the desert," excerpted from the Catalan Atlas, the most important map of the Middle Ages.

It is a special piece, beautifully decorated from end to end.
