Molded Plywood and Leather Fusion: A New Version Unveiled
Ejner Larsen and Aksel Bender Madsen. These two leading Danish designers collaborated for nearly 40 years, bringing approximately 300 pieces of furniture into the world. Their most celebrated work is arguably the 'Metropolitan Chair,' introduced in 1949.

Its distinctive backrest and sculptural, innovative form have captivated many. In 2014, a version with a saddle leather seat and back was revived as part of the Carl Hansen & Søn collection.
This year, a new version featuring a plywood back and leather seat has arrived. By using different materials for the back and seat, the chair achieves a more elegant and sharp appearance. Efforts were also made to recreate the original's unique character based on old drawings.
The frame is available in oak or walnut. You can choose between a version combining a leather seat with a molded plywood back, or one with saddle leather (in natural, cognac, or black) for both the back and seat.
