The Joy of Crafting Your Own Tools

Founded in 2014 by Kanzawa Tekko Co., Ltd., FEDECA is a premium cutlery brand built on the philosophy of "inheriting the culture of wood and iron" that has nurtured Japanese bladesmithing. Its sub-brand, "fedeca mellow mode," offers a more accessible lineup.

In April 2016, they launched "It’s my knife," a craft knife kit designed to convey the joy of shaping, allowing users to create their own handles.


Now, the "It’s my knife" series welcomes the new folding knife, "It’s my knife folding style." This release is a response to user requests for a knife suitable for camping scenes.

Developed with outdoor cooking in mind, this knife retains the "It’s my knife" signature feature of allowing users to craft their own handles, while incorporating thoughtful refinements for enhanced usability.

The assembly process is simple: shape the handle from the provided material, then screw all the parts together. The kit includes everything needed, such as the knife blade, handle material, sandpaper, screws, washers, spring washers, and a screwdriver.

The blade is double-edged, suitable for tasks like slicing, and features a core of Yasuki steel's Aogami, a renowned high-grade material, sandwiched between stainless steel plates. Aogami is also used in high-end kitchen knives and professional carpentry tools, prized for its sharpness and ease of sharpening.


The handle material is beech wood, chosen for its clean white appearance and pleasant texture. Commonly used for carpentry tool handles, beech is durable and develops a unique character with use, becoming more comfortable in hand over time.
