Tableware Crafted with Unique Techniques Rarely Seen in Arita Ware

It has been 400 years since Arita ware, Japan's first porcelain, was born in 1616. To mark this historic milestone, MARNI has released a collaborative collection, "MARNI×Arita Ware." This porcelain, created by inviting international designers to produce products with Arita ware, has garnered significant attention at overseas trade shows such as Milan Salone, extending beyond domestic Japanese designers and manufacturers.




To coincide with the opening of its first-ever cafe, MARNI has also produced a tableware collection featuring archival patterns from its Arita ware collection. The teapots, coffee cups & saucers, and other tableware items were all co-created with Arita ware artisans from the mold stage, resulting in original patterns and shapes. To beautifully express the patterns, a combination of transfer and hand-painting techniques was employed, a method rarely seen in other Arita ware. This tableware collection marks the first installment, with plans for future series.

At the MARNI Flower Cafe, which opened on the 3rd floor of Hankyu Umeda Main Store in March of this year, you can enjoy meals and tea served on this very tableware.
