Five "dark noon" watch collection

Danish watchmaker noon has unveiled the "dark noon" collection, featuring five distinct models: "gear," "chrono," "line," "numbers," and "times." These timepieces are already generating buzz, as the dials and discs were designed by nendo as a limited edition of the brand's classic "No.17" model.

noon watches feature the innovative "kaleidoscope" time-telling system. With their unique dials and color palettes, they are affectionately known as "Little Furniture" in their native Denmark.

While the original design is characterized by colorful, translucent discs overlapping to create vibrant patterns, nendo's interpretation deliberately eschews vivid hues. Instead, it employs "black surfaces," "white lines," and gold accents to leverage noon's original disc system, offering a new way to perceive the passage of time.

The collection includes "gear," with rotating gears reminiscent of a watch's internal mechanism; "chrono," a chronograph-inspired design where the minute markers function as the minute hand, and three smaller subdials indicate the hour; "line," featuring dotted lines for both the hour and minute hands that merge into a single line when aligned; "numbers," where notched segments precisely align at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock to form legible numerals; and "times," with 12 small subdials and a miniature hour hand that moves over them to display the time.

Brand founder Michael Slipsager's philosophy—"If watches are to be used as accessories, they must be more innovative, matching fashion and trends. They must also be functional and enjoyable"—is brilliantly embodied through the patented "kaleidoscope" system and designer Henrik Srig Thomsen's work.
