Japanese Auspicious Motifs Lavishly Arranged
"Mitsouko" is a representative chypre fragrance created by Guerlain's third-generation perfumer, Jacques Guerlain, inspired by a Japanese woman named Mitsouko, the heroine of the novel "La Bataille." Its composition, featuring a delicate balance between fruity notes led by peach and mysterious woody notes, has been cherished by celebrities past and present, including Charlie Chaplin. Now, this "legendary fragrance" is available in a limited edition version with a bottle crafted from Arita ware.
The bottles were produced by "ARITA PORCELAIN LAB," a modern brand from the kiln established in 1804, "Yazaemon Kiln." While the cap retains the "inverted heart" shape symbolic of "Mitsouko," the bottle itself incorporates the motif of the morning sun, representing "hare" (celebration or special occasion). Furthermore, the details are adorned with traditional Japanese auspicious patterns, such as paulownia symbolizing nobility and chrysanthemum signifying longevity. It was released in Japan in May and will be available in limited quantities in France and Hong Kong.
This brilliant collaboration with Arita ware, celebrating its 400th anniversary, adds a new bloom to the brand's history.
