The Watermark Series: Modern Applications for Evolving Watermarked Paper
"3120 (Sanichi Ni Zero)" is a project that leverages the papermaking and paper-processing techniques developed in Mino. Under the production of design director Shu Hagiwara, and in collaboration with artist Riko Takahashi, the project proposes new ways for Mino washi paper to integrate into contemporary life.
The newly released Watermark Series utilizes Mino washi paper, which inherits the tradition of *sukii-re* (watermarked paper), by developing molds that allow for the delicate yet clear and beautiful creation of watermarks across the entire sheet. The patterns—PRISM, BUBBLE, and FOREST—developed from the number 3120, evoke a lifestyle in harmony with light, water, and greenery.
This *sukii-re* paper is used for the main pages of products such as notebooks and notepads, resulting in items suitable for daily use that do not bleed even with fountain pens.
