Perrocaliente: Mino ware teacup with a special finish for a moist texture.
Perrocaliente
MOIST+CUP=MOISCUP
From Perrocaliente, a brand that means “hot dog” in Spanish and offers playful products, comes a new item perfect for winter. The “MOISCUP -YUNOMI-” is a teacup with a distinctively moist texture. This moist feel is achieved through a special process called sandblasting, where the cup is first unglazed, then coated with glaze, and finally treated with an abrasive. This technique is quite novel for Japanese ceramics.
Another thoughtful detail is the random arrangement of circular indentations on the lower part of the cup. This is a retro design element found in Arita ware, and the subtle hollows provide a pleasing accent. Combined with the surface texture, they enhance the grip when holding the cup.
It’s also recommended as a casual gift.
