Limited Collection from Richard Ginori x minä perhonen Arrives

A new limited collection, "Bee White," has arrived, featuring the free and flowing touch of Akira Minagawa, designer of minä perhonen, on Richard Ginori's lustrous and beautiful white porcelain, a signature of the renowned Florentine manufactory. The collection, adorned with dancing flowers and butterflies, can be experienced at a special event held from October 28th (Wed) to November 2nd (Mon) at The Stage, on the first floor of Isetan Shinjuku's main building.

Akira Minagawa Himself Took Up the Brush at Richard Ginori's Workshop

The title of this new limited collection for Isetan Shinjuku, "Bee White," is a play on words, combining "Bee," one of the motifs, "White Porcelain," and the English expression "Be white," signifying good fortune.

During the creation of this collection, Minagawa visited the Richard Ginori atelier. Inspired by his encounter with a collection designed by the master of Italian modern design, Gio Ponti, he developed six motifs. These include butterflies gathering around flowers, bees and small blossoms, and peacocks adorned with rainbows, all rendered with a sharp yet light touch inspired by nature.

A highlight is how Minagawa has evolved Gio Ponti's sophisticated creations—Ponti served as art director and brought innovation to Richard Ginori in the 1920s and 1930s—into a more contemporary context.

A Tribute to the Master, Gio Ponti

Akira Minagawa shares, "When I visited the Richard Ginori workshop, the warm and gentle smiles of the artisans, including master mold maker Marcello, who welcomed me, immediately conveyed that this workshop is in an excellent state as a place of craftsmanship. I felt the profound depth of manufacturing in how the skills and pride cultivated over 280 years are reflected in the gentle smiles of those who carry them on."

"With this collection, I paid homage to Gio Ponti, respecting his outstanding imagination and the beauty of his precise lines, and incorporated them into the 'Bee White' design. It is my greatest joy to have been able to realize its production in such a historic atelier."

During the event period at The Stage on the first floor of Isetan Shinjuku's main building, rare tableware, available only during this time, will be exhibited and sold. Items are limited in quantity. We invite you to witness the beautiful fusion of Richard Ginori, which continues to evolve while maintaining its inherent elegance and style, and Minagawa's creations.
