An "ultimate umbrella" that achieves a beautiful form despite its complex mechanism

The "GAX UMBRELLA" was born as an umbrella for people getting in and out of cars. The reverse-opening umbrella was born from the simple stress that everyone has likely felt – the discomfort of getting wet when entering or exiting a car with a regular umbrella – and was developed over approximately 10 years.



The mechanism that prevents getting wet works by having the wet parts of the umbrella face inward when closed, so the outside remains dry. This allows it to be stood up without wetting the car seat. When exiting, the umbrella can be opened with just a slight opening of the door, without the fabric touching the car body, thus preventing you from getting wet.

The ribs are made of special resin, and the main ribs use lightweight yet strong carbon fiber. The materials have been carefully selected, and every detail has been precisely engineered to successfully control the umbrella ribs. The mechanism has been patented as a world first.



Another feature is that the overall length can be kept short by offsetting the grip. At the same time, despite its special mechanism, it achieves a beautiful, slim form comparable to conventional umbrellas.

Color variations include a combination of an inner cloth in black and an outer in red, and an all-black version for both inner and outer cloth. The shaft uses a rare square aluminum pipe for an umbrella, finished with red anodizing.
