Bronze Edition: Limited Worldwide Release

Among Alessi's products, the "Juicy Salif" stands out as perhaps the most famous and iconic. Its origin dates back to 1990, when Philippe Starck, while enjoying a family vacation on the Italian island of Capri, was squeezing a lemon for his meal. Inspired by the shape of a cephalopod, he sketched the lemon squeezer design on a restaurant napkin. This design eventually reached Alberto Alessi, the head of Alessi, leading to its creation.

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Alessi has produced two special editions: a white version with a matte white ceramic coating over cast aluminum, and a cast bronze version that artistically enhances the item's allure. The bronze edition will be sold in a limited quantity worldwide.

Enjoy Special Drinks Perfect for Summer

At Isetan Shinjuku, a "Juicy Salif Fair" will be held from August 12 (Wednesday) in the Decor area of the 5th-floor Living section. In addition to the 25th-anniversary special editions, a life-sized, giant "Juicy Salif" object, imported from Italy, will also be on display.

Furthermore, centered around the theme of "Summer Drinks" to refresh and enliven the hot season, the fair will also feature related items from the collection, including glasses, shakers, and fruit baskets, alongside the lemon squeezer.

At the same venue, creative unit "Bob Foundation," known for its playful artwork that sparks fun ideas and communication, will present recipes for special lemon and lime drinks perfect for summer, made using the "Juicy Salif." These special drinks will be available at the adjacent cafe corner during the event.

Experience Events Also at Alessi Shop Aoyama

From September 4 (Friday), ALESSI SHOP AOYAMA will host its own "Juicy Salif Fair." An experiential event is planned where visitors can actually use the "Juicy Salif" to make juice.

Additionally, a commemorative booklet titled "Twenty-Five Years Without Squeezing a Lemon," featuring cynical copy by Michele Coen, such as "Too beautiful to squeeze," is scheduled to be distributed.

At the cafe corner of Kitchen Dining Decor, a pop-up stand titled "ALESSI STAND" will feature "Mame Nakano" and "Baisen Kobo Hug," known for their meticulously roasted coffee beans. Enjoy delicious coffee brewed using Alessi's espresso makers, press coffee makers, and other equipment.
