The First Gardening Tool Planned in Japan

The "5in1 Pole Hedge & Grass Trimmer GPSH1000" was the first gardening tool from BLACK+DECKER to be planned in Japan. It is said to pursue ease of use for women, who constitute over 60% of gardeners, and functions optimized for Japanese gardens.

The "GPSH1000" can be fitted with two types of blades: a "grass trimmer" for mowing and a "hedge trimmer" for pruning garden trees and hedges. By combining these with the unique "pole unit," whose head angle can be adjusted within a 135-degree range, it can handle basic garden maintenance tasks such as mowing grass, pruning garden trees, wide-area grass trimming, pruning high branches, and cutting weeds—all with a single unit.

Achieving Versatile Functions Equivalent to Five Gardening Tools

Furthermore, the motor is positioned horizontally below the grip. This unique "horizontal motor design" achieves a balanced center of gravity that makes it easy to operate even with one hand, enabling tasks like working at heights by attaching the pole. The grip also features "αGEL® (Alpha Gel)," a shock-absorbing material, for the first time in a gardening tool, reducing vibration during use and contributing to a comfortable user experience.

Blade replacement is simple, requiring only the removal of a cover, making it easy even for beginners. The "grass trimmer" allows for two cutting height adjustments: 15mm and 25mm. Being an AC-powered model, the main unit weighs approximately 1.1kg (when the grass trimmer blade is attached), making it pleasantly lightweight.

This multi-purpose machine is sure to be useful for mowing the grass and weeds that grow vigorously towards summer, as well as for weekend garden maintenance.
