All Displayed Ceramics Available for Purchase, Starting from ¥500
Meisterwerk Foods Moto-Azabu, a curated food select shop, opened last December. It offers ingredients and seasonings from all over Japan, personally vetted by the owner, as well as unique imported foods sourced through exclusive channels. In addition to food items, the store also carries tableware and cooking utensils, making shopping an enjoyable experience as you contemplate recipes and presentation.
The open-air eat-in space, newly established this spring, is located on the courtyard terrace at the back of the store and is available from lunchtime. Reservations for the terrace are possible during regular business hours when no special events are taking place.
This 'Utsuwa Fair' utilizes this terrace space as its stage, held in collaboration with 'Japan Dining Pottery,' a sister store and ceramics select shop located in Mita, Minato-ku. Here, you can acquire beautiful and reliable ceramics.
Discover Ceramics to Cherish and Use
The 'Utsuwa Fair' features new works by Tomoo Hamada, who continues the legacy of his grandfather, Shoji Hamada, at the Hamada Kiln in Mashiko. Also on display are pieces by Yuki Tanaka, born into a family of Arita ware potters and now an instructor at the Saga Prefectural Arita College of Ceramics, nurturing the next generation. Additionally, works by Akito Akagi, whose lacquerware requires approximately two years to create due to multiple layers of coating and drying, will be presented.
Furthermore, tableware crafted in Vietri, a major ceramics hub on the eastern edge of Italy's Amalfi Coast, will be exhibited. Their vibrant colors and bold designs, unlike anything seen in Japan, are perfect for home parties and are worth experiencing firsthand.
