Masterpieces from Each Tree to Be Auctioned
Sustainable Christmas trees, designed by Kengo Kuma, who also helmed the design of both "Tokyo Edition Toranomon" and "Tokyo Edition Ginza," have been unveiled. After serving their festive purpose, the trees are upcycled and reborn as tables and desks by Karimoku Furniture.

The wooden Christmas trees, adorning the festive season with splendor, were crafted by stacking small wooden units to represent the unique character of each city.
At Edition Ginza, the tree, named "Kigumi" (wood assembly), was fashioned from branches, reflecting Ginza's blend of global trends and traditional Japanese culture, presented as a jewelry tree with beautiful metallic accents.

Meanwhile, Tokyo Edition Toranomon's tree, "Komorebi" (sunlight filtering through trees), was designed for its high-ceilinged lobby evoking a forest. It utilized underused or low-value wood, such as small-diameter or crooked timber, to minimize cutting waste.
The woods used, including oak, ash, walnut, and Japanese maple, were sourced from Japanese forests in collaboration with Karimoku Furniture. The use of multiple tree species also contributes to forest circulation and growth.
A total of four types of tables will be sold, two for each tree. Among these, the unique masterpieces, one created from each tree, will be sold via silent auction, with proceeds supporting the fulfillment of dreams for children with serious illnesses.
