72 years in the making. An elephant object by Charles & Ray Eames | Vitra
Vitra
After a limited production run in 2007, a long-awaited release this autumn.

Charles and Ray Eames, designers who left their mark across a wide range of fields including furniture, are among the most representative designers of the 20th century. In the 1940s, they were engrossed in the technology of molding plywood in three dimensions. While this resulted in numerous furniture pieces and objects, the elephant made of plywood was an idea that never reached production. An anecdote tells of a prototype being gifted to Charles Eames' 14-year-old daughter.
Following a limited production in 2007, the "Eames Elephant Plywood" made from American cherry plywood is finally released. Whether as an object or a child's toy, it is sure to bring rich moments to any space.
