Exhibition "driade × yamagiwa" Held

To commemorate the first anniversary of the opening of yamagiwa's showroom "yamagiwa tokyo" in Gaienmae, Tokyo, an exhibition "driade × yamagiwa," a collaboration with "driade," which is highly acclaimed worldwide as "Italy's intellectual avant-garde," will be held from Saturday, October 24th.

Born in the late 1960s, a period of reaction against rationalist design, driade grew during an era of radical design debates that led to the rise of postmodernism. Their consistent, calm questioning of the meaning of "modern" is evident in their new three-floor showroom in the heart of Milan (Via Borgogna), which opened this year and features an outdoor terrace, with David Chipperfield as art director.

"driade × yamagiwa" at yamagiwa tokyo will showcase driade's masterpieces and new products alongside yamagiwa's new lighting, styled by interior stylist Yuki Nakabayashi.

The "Zigzag," designed by Konstantin Grcic and released in 1996, makes its debut as a new product. While retaining its characteristic zigzag shelf structure, the "Zigzag" combines walnut or oak shelves with black steel or bronze dividers, offering a calm impression. Alternatively, a mirror finish with red dividers creates a more vibrant look.

The "Sof-sof," a revival of a 1972 chair designed by Enzo Mari and unveiled at this year's Milan Salone in April, offers exceptional comfort due to the flexibility of its frame and high cushioning, despite its simple design.

The "Gazelle table," designed by Milan-based studio Park Associati, presents various expressions through its legs, which are positioned vertically or parallel to the tabletop. The "Mollina Chair" is striking with its hybrid of a sculptural, dynamic frame and fabric, providing a comfortable seating experience that envelops the body.
