This year's "MAIN" expands to include shops in the Gaien district, held over two days in November | MAIN

Visit Aoyama's showrooms and experience high-quality interiors.
This year's "MAIN" event spans two days in the Gaien and Minami Aoyama districts.
Launched in 2013 in the Minami Aoyama area, "MAIN (Minami Aoyama Interior Network)" is an event that brings together interior design showrooms. This year, interior shops from the Gaien district will newly participate, with the event held over two days: November 26 (Thursday) in the Gaien district and November 27 (Friday) in the Aoyama district. After work, visit each showroom to experience firsthand the "authentic and essential" interiors, each with its own unique charm.

Participating shops open until 9 PM: "Welcome to Our Showrooms"
"MAIN" is jointly organized by several interior shops in the Gaien and Minami Aoyama districts. Receptions will be held simultaneously in each district, allowing visitors to explore multiple shops in one visit.
Joe Suzuki, the initiator and director of MAIN, stated at the 2015 MAIN press conference, "Last year's MAIN concluded successfully with over 3,000 visitors to the showrooms. This year, the highly requested Gaien-Nishidori and Jingu Gaien areas have been unified as the 'Gaien District' and will host the event on November 26 (Thursday), followed by the Minami Aoyama district the next day.
While the event was held during Design Week in October in the previous two years, holding it in late November allows visitors to explore the interior shops at a more leisurely pace."
Highlights of the "Gaien District" Event on November 26 (Thursday)
At "Actus Aoyama Store," the focus will be on Germany's "TECTA," a company that not only continues to manufacture Bauhaus-designed furniture from the era of Breuer and Mies but also consistently unveils new creations that inherit their philosophy. In addition to product displays, Christian Driescher, the next successor, is scheduled to visit Japan for a talk event.
Wilkhahn's "Wilkhahn Forum Tokyo" will exhibit the new "IN" working chair, set to go on sale this winter. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Wilkhahn Japan's establishment, a special exhibition of valuable collections from the German company's archives is also planned.
At "Carl Hansen & Søn Flagship Store," the "Signature Chair," designed by Danish designer Frits Henningsen in 1954 and a sensation at the Milan Salone this spring, is expected to make its Japan debut.
Knoll's "Knoll Store Aoyama Main Store" will showcase the world of Harry Bertoia, focusing on his iconic furniture, including the Wire Chair, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the designer's birth.
YAMAGIWA's "yamagiwa tokyo" exhibition theme is "The Fusion of Contemporary Living Spaces and Japanese Lighting." The display will feature Japanese-style lighting designed by Japan's leading architects, Junzo Yoshimura and Togo Murano, and lighting from "Wada-U," a long-established Kyoto-based woodcraft specialist, paired with European furniture from Walter Knoll and Zanotta.

IOC's "IOC Tokyo Showroom" will present flooring and other products that emphasize the texture of natural materials.
The "LE STANZE" showroom opened just this September. Kazushi Suzuki, who designs for this Japanese original furniture brand, also serves as a product developer for domestic furniture manufacturers.
GERVASONI TOKYO will feature new products unveiled at the Milan Salone this spring.
FLEXFORM TOKYO will showcase new products presented at Milan this spring. To coincide with the MAIN event, the design team responsible for the Salone venue construction will visit Japan to renovate the store. Using materials imported from Italy, they will express the latest CI designed by Antonio Citterio.
