The Event Theme: "Life Story"

Sony's new concept "Life Space UX" re-examines the very nature of space, aiming to create new experiences while making the most of it. This event offers a chance to experience the potential of "Life Space UX," which can transform living spaces into any world imaginable, through its 4K ultra-short throw projector and LED bulb speaker, as well as the portable ultra-short throw projector and Symphonic Light Speaker currently under development.

Sony's "4K Ultra-Short Throw Projector" is a projector that, when placed near a wall, can cast an image up to 147 inches onto the living room wall. Its design, which exists like a piece of furniture and blends naturally into living spaces, received the "Good Design Gold Award" at Good Design Award 2014, recognizing its particularly outstanding design. It offers a new experience that transforms living spaces into any world, creating an atmosphere unbound by location or equipment constraints.

The "LED Bulb Speaker," which we have also featured on OPENERS, allows for wireless playback via Bluetooth simply by replacing the light bulb in a fixture in your dining room, living room, or bedroom. When used as a ceiling light, it provides a novel sensation of light and music showering down from above.

A Variety of Special Events

On October 8th (Thursday) during the event period, a special event will be held where members of the "ALMA MUSIC BOX" project, which converts radio wave data from "dying stars" into music box melodies, will share the story behind its creation. The event will feature the ALMA telescope projected by the 4K ultra-short throw projector, along with project videos, and a sound installation using the Symphonic Light Speaker.

Additionally, special events utilizing "Life Space UX" products are planned, including a talk event with Mr. Shintaro Uchinuma (Representative of numabooks), who is handling the distribution of the documentary film "A Film About Coffee" scheduled for release in December, and a "How to Enjoy a Tea Ceremony" session with Mr. Ryosuke Matsumura, an Associate Professor of the Urasenke school of tea ceremony.
