A Journey with Antonio Citterio, Championing "Made in Italy"

Since its founding in 1970, FLEXFORM has rigorously upheld "Made in Italy" from concept to production. This year at Salone del Mobile, we were treated to an "elegant" style bathed in warm colors and light, curated by designer Antonio Citterio, a collaborator for over 40 years.

The Continuity of Beauty at Flexform

For Flexform, a leading Italian interior brand with a commanding market presence, the Salone del Mobile venue is described as: "If our stores are the true factories where the brand's value is felt, then the Salone del Mobile venue is the ultimate showroom for confirming Flexform's beauty and style."

The venue, serving as this stage, was once again bustling with visitors. "Italian design is differentiated by lifestyle, technology, and true intelligence. When the excellence of a product is linked to the quality of its manufacturing, it means Italy's competitiveness lies in its beauty. And beauty begets beauty, continuing like the Flexform collection. Beauty lives with time and never fades." This definition of beauty and style garners strong support from fans who seek pure aesthetic appeal, rather than mere necessity.

At Salone del Mobile 2015, a total of 13 new pieces were unveiled, including three sofas and four armchairs. Two of the sofas are modular. The "LARIO" sofa features the mechanism from the sliding armchair "A.B.C.D.", while the new "BIG BOB" is a redesigned version of the "BOB" sofa, originally released 20 years ago. The "BIG BOB" discreetly incorporates a sliding function without the mechanism being visible from the back.

The "CRONO" armchair

The new "CRONO" armchair captivates with its beautiful wood grain, soft seat, and a backrest of leather straps, expertly applied using a unique technique, creating elegant shadows. One is drawn to recline into the sophisticated hospitality born from the harmony of these materials. New additions include an ottoman using the same leather straps and the "TINDARI" low table. The personal chair "GUSCIOALTO SOFT," introduced last year, was presented in a new textile: "cashmere." This fabric, specially developed by Flexform for furniture, boasts more than double the durability of standard materials. Adorned with a British-inspired herringbone pattern, it radiated an exceptional texture.

The "GROUNDPIECE" sofa

New products are developed through close collaboration between Antonio Citterio and Flexform's R&D department, with each piece carefully refined over five years before its unveiling. The iconic "GROUNDPIECE" sofa, launched in 2001, demonstrated a timeless beauty that remains undiminished even among the latest creations. Beauty, material quality, and craftsmanship—these elements combine to create an environment of true comfort, akin to returning home, showcasing authentic value.
