The Unceasing Evolution of a Pioneer in Kitchens and Bathrooms
On April 7th, just before the opening of Milan Salone, the integration of "BOFFI," a pioneer in kitchens and bathrooms, and "De Padova," an iconic design furniture brand, was announced. With the vision of further expanding "Italian know-how" globally through the collaboration of these brands, considered the pinnacle of Italian design, what new products did BOFFI unveil?

Where "Italian Know-How" Is Heading Next
The day before Milan Salone opened, people streamed into a section of Via Solferino, known for its sophisticated showrooms and boutiques, spilling out onto the street. This bustling scene was an indicator of the high expectations of the designers, journalists, and industry insiders who had gathered for "BOFFI," a company that has been a pioneer in Milan's kitchen and bathroom sector for 80 years. The integration with "De Padova" was undertaken to forge a strategic alliance in the design world while preserving the distinct identity of each brand. This move is expected to further enhance their momentum in both residential and contract markets.
BOFFI's functional kitchens, born from its advanced technology, are constantly evolving through collaborations with designers. The "Open" kitchen by Piero Lissoni, with its commanding presence, now includes an indoor version following last year's outdoor model. The "Tile" range hood features hand-crafted cement tiles by Domenico Mori, made using traditional techniques. In addition to the elegantly lined stainless steel, a seamless cast version using DuPont™ Corian® artificial marble has also been added. The technically sophisticated "K14" kitchen presents a novel design combining traditional motif tiles.
The "Salinas" kitchen, designed by Patricia Urquiola, is a standout product that received accolades such as the Wallpaper* Design Award 2015 and the Elle Deco International Design Awards 2015 for Best Kitchen. It masterfully combines robust materials like cement, metal, and etched glass with a delicate sensibility. The aluminum-framed shelves act as individual canvases, creating a captivating visual effect akin to paintings.
A Showroom to Experience the World of BOFFI Opens
Products designed by Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa are highly regarded in Italy, with his works featured by various brands at this year's Milan Salone. His ability to capture the essence of things beyond conventional boundaries, and the products derived from his unique approach to materials and their applications, continue to earn him high praise. Notably, the "Ark" bathtub's beauty is highlighted by the subtle interplay of light and shadow created by two lines running along its exterior and interior, accentuated by the matte white finish of Crystalplant®.
In Japan, a BOFFI showroom is scheduled to open in mid-July this year within "E INTERIORS" in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. Featuring popular collections such as "L14," "Xila," and "Hide," it will offer an opportunity to experience the world of BOFFI in Japan.
