Cerevo, a company whose name is a portmanteau of "Consumer Electronics" and "Revolution," embodying the idea of making life more convenient and richer through the internet and home appliances, will exhibit its smart power tap "OTTO," currently under development, at Milan Salone 2013, which begins Tuesday, April 9th.

Cerevo, an innovative appliance manufacturer specializing in the planning and development of internet-connected home electronics, has previously developed and sold products such as the network-enabled digital camera "CEREVO CAM," the "CEREVO LIVEBOX" that allows Ustream broadcasting simply by connecting a video camera and microphone, the "LiveShell" which enables Ustream broadcasting with just a digital camera, its higher-end model "LiveShell PRO" supporting HD broadcasting, and the "SmartTrigger," a Bluetooth device for remotely controlling the shutter of a digital single-lens camera from a smartphone. "LiveShell" and "LiveShell PRO" have also launched in the United States.

The "OTTO," to be exhibited at Milan Salone, is a power tap with eight built-in power ports designed to accommodate AC adapters for devices like PCs and mobile phones. All eight ports can be controlled via the internet, allowing users to easily turn power on and off using their smartphones. Two of these ports support dimming functionality, enabling users to connect dimmable lighting fixtures and freely adjust their brightness from a distance.

More than just housing adapters, its very presence can serve as an interior accent. The body design, which at first glance doesn't reveal it to be a power tap, was crafted by Satoshi Yanagisawa, who went independent after serving as the first assistant to renowned British industrial designer Ross Lovegrove. At the "2013 International CES," where OTTO was first unveiled, visitors highly praised not only its functionality but also its body design.
