Salone del Mobile: Exploring the Current World of nendo



Oki Satoheads the design officenendois presenting new works at a total of 20 venues for Salone del Mobile 2013, their 11th exhibition. These include a solo exhibition titled "Glassworks by nendo" at the Dilmos gallery, focusing on glass, and a joint exhibition "NICHETTO=NENDO" withLuca Nichetto, who was named Best Designer by the Italian edition of Elle Decor this year.

A Wealth of Exciting Items, Including First-Time Collaborations and New Furniture & Lighting



Noteworthy at the exhibition in the Brera district is the solo show "Glassworks by nendo" at Dilmos Gallery (Piazza San Marco 1), featuring only works made of glass.Baccarat, Glas Italia, BISAZZA, Lasvit, andCoca-Cola's new furniture and accessories, along with prototypes, will be exhibited and sold.


Also generating buzz is the joint exhibition "NICHETTO=NENDO" (Foro Buonaparte 48), showcasing seven prototypes of furniture and accessories born from a sketch exchange between Luca Nichetto and Oki Sato, likened to the first and second halves of a Japanese tanka poem.


Additionally, "stone garden + stone-edge table" for Caesarstone, an Israeli building materials manufacturer, features two furniture pieces designed using quartz, presented at Palazzo Crivelli (Via Potaccio 12).

Among the new releases at shops and showrooms around Milan, "surface" for Louis Vuitton at the Louis Vuitton shop (Via Montenapoleone 2) will feature lighting fixtures first unveiled at Design Miami last December.


Other must-sees include "patchwork-glass lamp" for Lasvit (Via Enrico Stendhal 35), presenting new lighting fixtures using traditional Bohemian glass cutting techniques, and the "clip" collection for Discipline (Via Pietro Mascagni 4). Discipline, a new Italian brand for furniture and accessories that debuted its first collection at Salone del Mobile last year, will showcase tables, coat hangers, and candle holders introduced at Maison & Objet in January.

At the main venue, "Rho Fiera," the first collaboration with Glas Italia, a leading Italian luxury glass furniture brand, "deep-sea" + "mirror-chair" for Glas Italia, will be presented at Hall 16 / C23-D8, unveiling new tables, shelves, and mirrors.
