Visual experiences where light's expression dissolves into space

Canon has exhibited under the theme "NEOREAL," signifying "a world of new sensibilities," for three years since 2008. For this, the 50th anniversary of Milan Salone, they are pursuing even greater possibilities with the theme "NEOREAL WONDER," creating a world of visual expression where lightness and innovation coexist.

This year's Canon Milan Salone exhibition, "NEOREAL WONDER," has realized an unprecedented visual space through a collaboration between the architecture firm Torafu Architects, which designed the main space, and the visual design studio WOW, all underpinned by Canon's comprehensive strength in imaging.

The main space, born from the spatial theme "Light Loom," features a three-dimensional screen made of countless water threads (0.5mm wide, 16m long), upon which images embodying the visual theme "Circle of light" are projected in a succession of diverse light expressions.

Approximately 20 Canon projectors, including the "WUX10 MarkII" equipped with LCOS (Liquid Crystal On Silicon) reflective liquid crystal panels, are arranged to project high-definition images from multiple directions. For the video production, new digital video cameras such as the "iVIS HF M41," which utilize CMOS sensors found in the "EOS 5D" digital SLR camera and professional video cameras, were used. Canon's technology is utilized throughout, from input to output.
