The Thinnest Standard Notebook in Mac History

Apple's MacBook has been reborn as the next-generation notebook, the thinnest in Mac history. It measures a mere 13.1mm thin and weighs just 920g. This is 24 percent thinner than the 11-inch MacBook Air. Its design, which rethinks everything from the latest wireless technology to the display and keyboard, has captured the hearts of many users.

High-Grade Aluminum Body Available in Three Colors

Apple WatchWhile it may be overshadowed by the buzz around the Apple Watch, the new MacBook is proving popular. The metal-bodied MacBook is available in three colors: Space Gray, Gold, and Silver. The stainless steel Apple logo gleams on the top case. Although it just launched on April 10th, it's already on backorder at many retailers, including the Apple Store.

Every component of the new MacBook has been redesigned. Like the MacBook Air, it features an aluminum body, but it boasts a 12-inch Retina display while being 24% thinner than the 11-inch MacBook Air. It uses the energy-efficient 5th-generation Intel Core M processor, achieving a fanless design for the first time in a Mac notebook model.

The newly adopted butterfly mechanism keyboard is 34% thinner than before, while offering a stable design for accurate typing. The keys provide a distinct tactile feel and responsive feedback, resulting in a satisfying typing experience. The 12-inch Retina display is only 0.88mm thin. Not only is it thinner, but it also achieves 30% greater energy efficiency compared to previous Mac notebook Retina displays, while maintaining the same level of brightness. With a screen resolution of 2304x1440 pixels, both images and text are displayed with exceptional clarity.

Along with the keyboard and display, the interface has also been updated to next-generation standards. It features the compact yet versatile USB-C port, the latest Wi-Fi standard IEEE 802.11ac, and Bluetooth 4.0. Running on OS X Yosemite, it enables seamless and speedy data transfer between Mac and iOS devices.
