The innovation of this product lies in its avoidance of sponges and filters, which are prone to bacterial growth. Instead, it uses Dyson's unique "Ultraviolet Cleanse" technology to eliminate bacteria using ultrasonic waves.

Each water droplet is exposed to powerful UV-C light twice, directly eliminating harmful bacteria. Then, a piezoelectric transducer in the humidifier's base vibrates up to 1.7 million times per second, breaking the water into fine particles. This releases a clean mist at a rate of up to 300ml per hour. Furthermore, as the mist passes through a loop, it is amplified by "Air Multiplier™" technology and released with air, allowing for even humidification of the room.
