New Cordless Vacuum Cleaner Equipped with Newly Developed Cleaner Head Released

The frustrations of cleaning in daily life──Dyson has announced a new cordless vacuum cleaner, the "Dyson Fluffy Cordless Cleaner DC74 Motorhead," featuring a novel cleaner head that brilliantly solves the problem of simultaneously capturing large debris like rice grains and fine debris such as dust and pet hair. It will be available from October 14 (Tuesday) on the Dyson online store, and from October 23 (Thursday) at approximately 2,100 retail stores nationwide, primarily electronics retailers.

The Cleaner Head Reimagined from the Ground Up

To capture fine dust, the underside of the cleaner head must be as close to the floor as possible. However, this only pushes large debris like rice grains forward, failing to suck them up. Conversely, to capture large debris, widening the gap between the head and the floor reduces suction power, leaving fine dust behind on the floor surface...

This challenge has been overcome by developing a full-width roller covered not with the stiff bristles of conventional vacuum cleaners, but with soft nylon material and multiple rows of carbon fiber brushes.

The "Dyson Fluffy Cordless Cleaner DC74 Motorhead," launching in October, works by capturing large debris within the soft nylon felt, drawing it into the cleaner head, while carbon fiber brushes, which suppress static electricity, capture fine dust.

Furthermore, by integrating a dedicated motor for the cleaner head into the roller, a full-width roller has been realized.

Founder James Dyson commented, "Dyson engineers didn't just tweak the details; they rebuilt the cleaner head from the ground up. As a result, performance has improved dramatically. When we tested the cleaner head with 20 times the amount of debris used in our standard tests, it captured both large and small debris simultaneously in a single stroke."

The renowned suction power of the DC74 Motorhead remains, and by attaching the included tools, it can also be used as a handheld vacuum, making it ideal for cleaning car interiors and futons. It is sure to be useful in various scenes of daily life.
