Developed by over 45 engineers from the fluid dynamics and motor teams, the AM05 fan heater is also characterized by its efficient energy use compared to conventional electric fan heaters. It quickly and uniformly heats a room as a fan heater in winter, and provides cooling with a powerful airflow as a fan in summer, making it a new product that performs two functions in one unit.

Dyson founder James Dyson commented on the AM05: "I find it stressful when the room temperature isn't maintained at the set level. You might feel warm one moment and then shiver from the cold just a few minutes later. That's why we developed a product that can efficiently heat and cool with a single unit. We've increased the output of the brushless DC motor by 33% to maintain the ability to heat a room quickly and uniformly, while also improving the performance of the cooling mode."



Dyson technology that generates six times the airflow of the air it draws in.

The AM05 utilizes Air Multiplier™ technology and a redesigned motor to create high airflow. It draws in up to 28 liters of air per second through a mixed-flow impeller. Nine asymmetric blades and a small aperture create high and low pressure zones, reducing air friction and enabling a mechanism that ensures a constant and smooth airflow.

The drawn-in air is directed to a circular component, where it is heated while its temperature is automatically controlled by passing through a PTC ceramic plate. The accelerated air is then expelled from a 2.5mm aperture and flows over an 8-degree airfoil-shaped ramp. This induces the air behind the fan heater, along with low pressure, drawing in the surrounding air. As a result, it can generate six times the airflow of the air initially drawn in.
