The smallest and quietest Dyson vacuum cleaner
New canister vacuum cleaner "DC48" developed for Japan
30% smaller and 40% quieter than the current model "DC46"──The new product "DC48," developed to suit Japanese lifestyles, has arrived as the smallest and quietest vacuum cleaner among Dyson's lineup, featuring Ball™ technology (which ensures a low center of gravity by housing the motor, power cord, and filter within a ball-shaped body). It was first released on the Dyson online store and will be available from April 18 (Thursday) at retailers nationwide, primarily major electronics stores.

Smaller, lighter, quieter──The latest model designed for Japanese homes
Engineers, particularly acoustic engineers, tackled the mission to develop a vacuum cleaner that is "powerful yet quiet" – more so than any other Dyson vacuum. They simplified the airflow path of the cleaner head, adjusted the motor's orientation, and smoothed the airflow within the cyclone to reduce mechanical noise.
Furthermore, the engineers developed over 150 prototypes, built 35 full-scale prototypes, and created countless smaller prototypes for the development of each machine component.
James Dyson commented on the DC48: "Japan was the first to embrace the idea of a bagless vacuum cleaner, recognizing its advanced technology. In Japan, smaller, more efficient, and highly functional products are expected. We have designed this vacuum cleaner to meet these specific demands. Using Dyson's new high-speed digital motor, we have developed a product that is smaller, quieter, and significantly more powerful than before."
The DC48 is equipped with the "Dyson Digital Motor V4," an integrated motor designed to be the world's smallest and most efficient. Its compact size delivers performance comparable to Dyson's standard-sized vacuum cleaners, with improved dust collection capabilities. The cleaner head, also developed for the Japanese market, is smaller and lighter, and its carbon fiber filaments effectively capture even finer dust from flooring.
Try the DC48 with friends and share reviews on Facebook!
Form a team of five close friends and experience the newly announced "DC48" vacuum cleaner, passing it along like a baton!──Applications are being accepted until Sunday, April 14th, for a campaign called "Dyson Relay."
In this Dyson Relay, the applicant becomes the team leader, forming a team of five of their Facebook friends. Participants will actually try the vacuum cleaner, passing it along from friend to friend in a relay format, sharing reviews as they go.
