Soothing Modern Life Through Scent, Sound, and Visuals
The Creative Director for SERENE HOUSE is Kirsten Jørgensen, who spent 25 years as Creative Director for a global kitchenware manufacturer, overseeing the design of numerous products.
At the launch event in Japan, Kirsten shared, “I was teaching painting when, in 1974, I was asked to design a coffee maker, despite having no prior design experience. It became a huge success, and I embarked on a career as a designer. Three years ago, the owner of SERENE HOUSE asked me, ‘Won’t you try designing a fragrance diffuser?’ I knew nothing about fragrances, but I wanted to help modern people, who carry so much stress, through scent, sound, and visuals. I believed aromatherapy could support daily life.”
Kirsten oversees not only the design of the hardware but also all artwork, including the logo featuring a motif of white clouds. SERENE HOUSE’s vision of a “serene environment and healthy living” is presented through this total aesthetic.
The Scentilizer ultrasonic aroma diffuser comes in three models. The "Donut II" is appealing for its friendly design and the smooth, luxurious feel of its ceramic texture. It features a built-in speaker, allowing playback of programmed music or audio streamed from digital music players via cable or USB.
The fragrance diffusers come in two models. The "Scent Flute 2-notes" is a heater-type aroma diffuser that uniquely allows users to enjoy two alternating scents by warming separate heatable fragrance oils in two glass tubes. In a dimly lit room, its LED light emits a beautiful gradient of color.
SERENE HOUSE products are available at Asplund Ebisu Store, Time & Style, and select Tokyu Hands stores (availability may vary by store).
