Casa Italia, the official hospitality house of the Italian National Olympic Committee, has opened to coincide with the Tokyo Olympics. Based at the Takanawa Kasumigaseki Palace, it serves as a platform to showcase Italy's world-renowned content.

Casa Italia is a hospitality house and studio for Italy, international TV networks, and athletes. It originated as a hospitality house during the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and has since evolved into a center that conveys the Italian experience through unique storytelling, not just during the Olympics.

For the Tokyo Olympics, the Italian National Olympic Team is sharing the stories of the Italian team, the protagonists of the Games, from the Takanawa Kasumigaseki Palace.

Following "Horizontal" at the 2016 Rio Olympics, which explored cultural fusion, and "Prospectum" at the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics, presenting Italy's perspective on encounters with various civilizations, the 2021 Tokyo Olympics project unfolds under the theme of "Wonder."

The Takanawa Kasumigaseki Palace, serving as the venue for Casa Italia, is typical of European residences from the 17th and early 18th centuries, with all rooms interconnected and adorned with wall decorations and fireplaces. The Casa Italia project's exhibition design considers the historic nature of the palace, enhancing its unique character.

"Mirabilia" originates from the "Wunderkammer" (German for "cabinet of curiosities") of the 16th to 17th centuries, where collectors displayed rare items. They gathered artworks and natural objects, exhibiting them together without regard for differences or hierarchy.

These collections were collectively referred to as "Mirabilia," meaning "wondrous things."

This iteration of Casa Italia, with its "Mirabilia" concept, evokes a sense of stepping into "moments of pure magic."

The art, products, and other exhibits at Casa Italia, centered around the theme of "wonder," allow visitors to experience the thrill of encountering the "magic" and "wonder" found in nature, its components, and everyday life.
